2022: A year of intensive activity for NATAN Worldwide Disaster Relief 

  • Ukraine: 15 teams (188 medical and social work volunteers) over 6 months 

  • Nepal: 4 teams providing life saving training to health workers and community volunteers

  • Columbia: Cucuta Medical Clinic & Wellness Tent for Venezuelan migrant women

  • Israel: Mobile Dental Care Clinic serving the most under-served population 

January 2022 - Israel: As the new year began, NATAN continued its Dental Relief work for populations at risk in Israel. This work continues. Read more here

March 3, 2022: NATAN volunteers deploy to the Ukraine-Poland border - one of the first international organizations to arrive on the scene to provide aid to Ukrainians fleeing the war.

March – August 2022 – Ukraine - NATAN operates the clinic at the refugee center in Przemysl Poland – one of the largest refugee transit centers, just 20 km from the Ukraine border. During the 6 months of the operation NATAN sent over 188 volunteers – most of them medical and social work professionals. Read more here.

NATAN received this medal from the Polish Red Cross in recognition of our work at the Przemysl refugee center in 2022. NATAN and the Polish Red Cross worked together to aid over 30,000 refugees at the medical clinic run by NATAN in Przemysl.

April 2022 – December 2022 – Nepal:  NATAN sends 4 teams of volunteers to Dudhauli, Nepal to provide psychosocial training as well as life-saving training for nurse midwives, medical staff and community healthcare workers. The ultrasound technology training lowers infant and mother fatalities. This project is a sustainable humanitarian effort, product of NATAN’s commitment to the ongoing wellbeing of the Dudhauli community. NATAN teams have been volunteering in this region since 2015 when 2 earthquakes destroyed more than 90% of healthcare facilities in the area. Read more here

June 2022 – Cucuta, Colombia:  NATAN and partner, Cadena, open the Cucuta Medical Clinic for migrant women and the Wellness Tent – providing medical care, support and trauma intervention for Venezuelan migrant women and their families. Read more here

August – December 2022 – Ukraine Rehabilitation:  NATAN has been preparing for the next stage of Ukraine war relief.  This began with the training of Ukrainian frontline caregivers in August 2022 and continues with plans to establish resilience centers inside Ukraine. September 2022: NATAN welcomes its new CEO, Naama Shilo. This has brought Naama full circle as she rejoined NATAN, where she began her humanitarian work as a volunteer many years ago. “I am proud and excited to return to the place where I started my journey in the humanitarian world as a volunteer, the place where my dream of doing good became a reality.”  Read Naama’s year-end message here.

October - November 2022: NATAN US Tour – to raise awareness and strengthen ties with supporters. The main event was the benefit concert for NATAN at City Winery in New York City, where David Broza and Lisa Gutkin performed.  See and hear more here
